Diversity of thought and self-expression through artistry, while supporting Island youth with new opportunities!
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island - Islanders are invited to take part in a relaxing and enjoyable evening at our fundraising event, "Art for Addiction." This event is a live and silent auction, for The Reach Foundation. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the bidding of a wide selection of stunning Art pieces graciously donated by local artisans throughout Prince Edward Island.
The Reach Foundation is a registered non-for-profit charitable organization. The Reach Centre provides a safe and structured environment in a non-residential setting for youth who have completed a treatment program and are currently in recovery from addiction(s) and/or mental health issues. The "Work Experience Program" offered, provides support and guidance through life skills, programs, projects, motivation to help the youth build confidence and regain their self-esteem. "When I came to the Reach program, I had no life skills and no self-worth. Being able to come to a place where your recovery comes first, work is second, proved to be a necessary stepping stone for my recovery. I will recommend this program to anyone in recovery with addiction and/ or mental health issues", says Marshall MacIsaac.
Reach Foundation staff assists clients with budgeting, relapse prevention, coping, refusal and life skills training. Our youth become motivated, maintain sobriety, achieving feelings of accomplishment and self-worth, while building developmental skills.
The "Art for Addiction" event is being held Thursday, April 27th., 2017 at The Guild - Performing Art Centre, located at 111 Queen St, Charlottetown, PE, entertainment by PEI's very own musicians, a full evening of laughter and socializing.
